Musical Progressions' Director
Linda Stavrou, MM
The director's credentials include over thirty years of classroom music teaching
and administration in both public and private schools as well as studio
music teaching at all age levels. A Master's degree in vocal/keyboard music
education along with many years of formal continuing graduate studies has
enabled the instructor to experience the very best instructional methods
and tools first-hand. The director actively participates in workshops with
people who are active in the latest research on music and brain development
as well as professional organizations which specifically address the needs
of the very young music student. Certification as an elementary classroom
teacher as well as a music teacher have contributed to the holistic approach
used in each lesson. Each lesson is a complete experience as a result of
special enhancements chosen or designed by the director. Anything from a
new worksheet, manipulative game, composition, or MIDI accompaniment can
be creatively designed by the director using a very current MIDI studio,
and a complete knowledge of computers and MIDI instruments.
