Coming January, 2006! Toddlers love to GO! Going is their gift, their license to venture out into the world and their means of retreating to the security of Mom or Dad. With toddlers' desire to go, comes an attraction to other things that go - people, animals, pull toys, tricycles, cars, trains, planes, and the list goes on. In Away We Go! we will explore a unit of music that focuses on things that go, leading your child in an exploration of the world of transportation. Our transportation adventures are symbolic of the central theme in a toddler's life - the balancing act between independence (going away) and dependence (coming together). We act out this balance in every class. From the toddler's perspective, they run and jump into the arms of grown-ups, then they fly away from them like airplanes. They rush into the circle holding hands, then pull back out and raise their hands in the air all by themselves in the Zoom-e-oh Circle Song . They rock cozily together with you to Scarlatti's Sonata in f minor, L118 , then sit apart from you to roll the ball and sing Keep the Ball A-Rolling (En roulant ma boule). At every turn, the toddler ''Bound Away and Back" phenomenon is respected and embraced.
Join us for this action-packed adventure!
